Raise it, damn it!

In 2016, no one can support themselves on the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. Workers struggle to pay bills, fill their cars with gas, feed their families, and save for the future. Meanwhile, presidential hopeful Donald Trump thinks wages are too high and does not want to raise the minimum wage. This is preposterous.

Raising the minimum wage isn't just good for low-wage workers: it's good for everyone. When wages go up, families can cover basic needs, like paying bills and buying groceries. Working families can also spend more in their communities, investing in small businesses and creating more jobs.

There is growing support for raising the minimum wage, but it's up to us to push members of Congress to do the right thing.
